What an awesome weekend Rylie had! Aunt Trish and Uncle Shen came to visit all the way from Champaign, IL. It was Rylie’s first time meeting them so it was a very exciting event!

During their visit they shared veggie straws, taught Rylie how to smash towers made of blocks, push her noisy popper all over the house, and put coins in the piggy bank. We are hoping to get to see them one more time before they leave town.

It’s hard to believe this sister of mine doesn’t even like babies, but then, my baby is SUPER smart so maybe she’ll make an exception

OK Rylie, now you try it!
Success!
Intense conversation

Aside from our visit, Rylie has been working on her transition into the toddler room at school, and it hasn’t been going so well. Thank goodness Daddy does the morning drop off or Rylie and I would be home playing everyday. I don’t think I’d be able to walk away seeing her so sad. It seems like she gets better as the day goes on, but then when they change teachers mid afternoon, things go downhill again. Today when I picked her up she was back in the infant room. It will take some time but eventually she will enjoy her new class as much as she loved the infant room.

We sure will miss Ms. Sonja, Ms. Julia, Ms. Linda, and Ms. Heidi. I couldn’t have asked for better teachers to help our family with our first year away from our little girl. They taught us so much over the past year and we will forever be grateful for that.
