When asked by Disney to host a themed party, you just don’t say no! But what kind of party do you throw? After receiving an American Tourister luggage bag packed with Mickey Mouse goodies, I was torn. But I went rogue and turned my #disneyside party into an event fit for a queen. A Queen of Hearts that is.

My inspiration came from my daughters LOVE of Alice and my love of overcomplicating things.

After a whole lot of Pinterest and a few viewings of the movie, I was able to set the scene for our #disneyside soiree.

Inexpensive lanterns from Oriental Trading hung from our pergola above tables draped in white cloths. For centerpieces I collected tea pots and cups from local goodwill stores on 50% off days, then spray painted them in gold, pink and blue and filled them with inexpensive flowers from the grocery store.

I used oversized cardboard keys from Hobby Lobby as additional table decor and spray painted them in gold.

A croquet tournament was in full “swing” on the lawn while our guests, dressed in their tea party finest enjoyed tasty treats like Mad Hatter Meatballs, “Queen”oia Salad, Cheshire Chips and Fruit Salsa, Sangria and Passion Tea. For dessert we served Red Velvet sandwich cookies and Tres Leches Cupcakes.

Oversized flowers surrounded guests on the patio

Some PVC pipe and a few yards of checkered cloth worked wonders for our photo booth!

So what have we been doing with all the amazing freebies we received for hosting this fun celebration? We’ve been throwing potty parties and using tattoos, stickers and more for potty training prizes!

Thanks to HP, American Tourister and Disney for allowing us to be a part of this exciting promotion! Visit us on instagram for more fun pics.
