Eating is my favorite. It’s true. If there’s anything I love to do it’s to find a good local restaurant and chow down. Phoenix has so many great options to choose from when it comes to food and has an incredibly supportive culture when it comes to local businesses. Here are a few of my (our) favorite spots to hit up lately…

EATING TACOS
Who puts an egg and brussels sprouts on nachos? Diego Pops does. Thanks for getting me out of my comfort zone on this one @catbullroar.

EATING HOT DOGS
Short Leash Hot Dogs wins my award for best hot dog in town, though I can’t say I know of another hot dog place in all honesty. My current favorites are a Vegetarian Chicago Dog or Pretzel Dog but there are so many to choose from. No matter if you are vegan, vegetarian, a meat lover or strictly poultrytarian (is that a word?) there is something for everyone. Even kids, cause what kid doesn’t like a hot dog.
I don’t even have words for these Fried Pickles. Other than to say that I only like eating them at Short Leash. Taking them to go didn’t work out so well for me (soggy pickles are no bueno), but I’ll forgive that and move on.
Kid friendly, super great service… this is definitely at the top of my list of favorite eateries (and Rylie’s too!)
EATING BREAKFAST
It’s been about a decade since I first ate at Matt’s Big Breakfast, mostly because the line was up the street and around the corner, and who has time for that? Apparently not this girl. But really what’s all the excitement about? In one word, BACON. This place serves up the dreamiest bacon a girl can get. They’re so commited to their bacon game they travel 95 miles, round trip each week to the Pork Shop of Queen Creek and it is worth it!
I’m not sure if it’s the bacon that landed them this spot on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives but it definitely captured my heart.
